Scent of Spring 2016

As the cruel winter thaws out into the fragrant spring season, there is only one thing on everyone’s mind – Shopping for a fresh look. And talking about fresh, the season is like our premier for the year’s best sensory experiences. Be it food, beauty, fashion or fragrances Spring is our carnival to bathe in colour and scent. As soon as March comes through our olfactory nerves are twitching for the floral, citrus, woody scents. We have enlisted some of our favourite new fragrances of the year.

Bamboo Eau de Perfume by GUCCI: Still haven’t given up on the last Gucci fragrance?  Well, the captivation is understandable as GUCCI really does do perfumes that take the time to leave your senses. The new woody  and fruitier scent called Gucci Bamboo is a purse spray and is quite travel-friendly. The bottle is a steely bamboo branch design and has the original Eau de perfume encompassing Casablanca lily, ylang-ylang and hints of sandalwood.  

Mediterranean Honeysuckle Eau de Parfum by AERIN: When the sun is finally out determined to soak you with its golden rays there is only one destination the mind wanders to – Mediterranean coast. The sweet and tangy scent of honeysuckle and grapefruit amalgamated with citrus freshness of Italian Bergamot and Mandarin oil accentuate the feeling of sunbathing by the azure coast. Lily of the Valley and lush Gardenia build to the sensuality and richness of Jasmine Sambac Absolute.

JO MALONE LONDON Sorrel and lemon thyme cologne: You know it’s Spring when you enter an orchard or herb garden and take in the uplifting citrus or refreshing thyme. What if you wear the herb garden through the day leaving you filled with the zest of a lemon seasoned with rosemary? The Sorrel and Lemon thyme cologne by Jo Malone is a concoction of all the season’s delights in a bottle. From the fragrant bouquet of bigarade and petitgrain to the sorrel, lemon and thyme there is the earthy tinge of geranium leaves beneath. The overall sensation leaves you with an extra spring in your feet.

Black Opium Nuit Blanche by YVES SAINT LAURENT: Black Opium original floral fragrance laced with the electric energy and scent of the white coffee making it seductive for a night out in Paris. Nuit Blanche translates to White Night in Paris where the city is an open canvas for partying and fusing energies with other party hoppers that don’t fade away until the dawn.

Diptyque Eau des Sens:  The new fragrance from Diptyque is created for the senses to be constantly teased like a piece of music, radiating from the skin. The fragrance comprises of  orange blossom, bitter orange, juniper berries, angelica and patchouli. Eau des Sens owes its originality to the way it is composed. A bitter orange, in all its diversity, resonating with unexpected spicy and woody notes.
